Healing circles are safe environments in which those who are impacted by a condition or circumstance can share their experiences and harvest collective wisdom. They are the foundation on which other circles are built.

and the Functional Mindset

What is nutrition? Nutrition is the process of taking in food and using it for growth, metabolism and repair. A personalized approach is key.

What is holistic nutrition? The word holistic is synonymous with the word functional in that they both describe a mindset that views the natural ability of the body to grow, metabolize and repair as essential to health and well being. The word holistic is often used by natural practitioners and the word functional is preferred by medical practitioners. This mindset is an important point of overlap between nutrition and medicine. Without this mindset, nutrition is absent from medicine.

The importance of a functional mindset: The model for functional nutrition is based on the medical idea that believes if the body has optimal function then normal growth, metabolism and repair happen naturally. Holistic nutrition believes that if the body is supplied with adequate nutrients from food are provided, then the body is given the best chance possible to grow, metabolize and repair.

The functional mindset serves two main purposes: One, it provides a systematic approach that aims to solve even the most complex health issues. And two, it captures your story in a highly useful matrix for you to easily share with all the members of your health care team.
